Mayors for Meals Event

On March 18th, 2009 Mayor David Bronconnier and Alderman Jim Stevenson participated in our first annual Mayors for Meals event and helped deliver meals to our clients. 

Mayors for Meals started in the United States in 2006 and has grown to include over 1000 Mayors across North America.  Calgary Meals on Wheels lead the initiate to bring the event to Canada and this year 48 Mayors from across Canada helped deliver meals and raise the awareness of Meals on Wheels in their communities.

           

Government Gives Gladly

On December 23, 2008 we were honoured to have some important dignitaries help us pack and deliver meals to our clients. One of our special guests included Mrs. Laureen Harper, wife of Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

   

   

2008 Under Construction Fundraiser

On September 21, 2008 we hosted a very successful Under Construction Fundraiser, with all proceeds going towards our Meals or No Meals Capital Campaign! The event was hosted by MC Bob Nicholson, attended by approximately 500, and involved dinner, live and silent auction, entertainment as well as speeches from dignitaries. The venue was our new building!

   

   

2007 Gala

An amazing time was enjoyed by all at our 2007 Gala Cuisine and Concours D'Elegance. The event featured a display of collectible cars from the fifties, fine dining and the amazing Eric Friedenberg and his nine piece band. There was an incredible assortment of live and silent auction items for bidding pleasure. 2007 Stampede Luncheon

Each year we organize a luncheon for our volunteers in order to celebrate the Calgary Stampede, and to thank them for their commitment to us.
