APPRECIATION                    

Patricia Bourne Award
The late Patricia Bourne was a dedicated volunteer and served as Board President from 1978-1981. In recognition of her volunteer commitment, and in her memory, her family established a fund for CMOW to hold a spring luncheon to honour all volunteers and to present an award in her name. The Patricia Bourne Memorial Award is given annually to individuals nominated by fellow volunteers for exemplary contributions to CMOW.

Vivian McDonald 2010 Recipient
Our organization's highest honour was presented to Vivian McDonald. This year alone she has contributed over 360 hours of her time, and takes extra routes when she is called on. We are in debt to Vivian for her exemplary service.

New 2010 Bill Girling Heart Award
For 25 years Bill Girling volunteered for Calgary Meals on Wheels, and contributed over 5500 hours of service. In honour of his service and in his memory, his wife, Dorothy Girling, has established the Bill Girling Heart Award to recognize volunteers who exemplify his heartfelt dedication to our organization. 

Tedd & Laverna Jennings 2010 Recipient
This inaugural year, the deserving recipients of this award are Laverna and Tedd Jennings. Their combined contribution adds up to an impressive 62 years and 5800 hours of service to Calgary Meals on Wheels.

Special Recognition

2010 marks Calgary Meals on Wheels 45th Anniversary. Two volunteers have been with us from the beginning and are still volunteering today - Hattie Boothman and Laverna Jennings. Their continued contribution to Calgary Meals on Wheels is simply amazing!
