From our Clients…
“I just wanted to tell you how much the flowers delivered with my supper was exactly what I needed to get me out of this funk I’ve been in… how lovely of you! You will never understand how much it is appreciated by myself. Thank you so much , oh and while I’m here please pass on to the chefs how much I enjoy the meals, the assortment and the taste! The flowers somehow told me that there is someone out there who cares!"
"Thank you so much and god bless you. My birthday was last week and I received a really sweet birthday card and a wonderful care package. I really appreciate it and honestly thank you, I love you guys so much! It truly feels like family, and I try to tell people about you guys because I absolutely love you. Thank you so much for the beautiful thoughts. I appreciate the sentiment behind the card and gift. Feel free to spread the love to the rest of the office, the volunteers, and even the chefs - because they make great food!"
"We chatted this morning when I ordered muffins but I did NOT say how very much we appreciate Meals On Wheels. My husband and I are long time clients and could not manage without your service. Your volunteers are so reliable even in poor weather- and so friendly. They all stop for a cheery chat which means so much to us since we are housebound. Just know we are so thankful for our daily meal delivery!"
From our Volunteers…
“A few weeks ago I was able to deliver a birthday package to one of the clients. She was just beaming and so appreciative, saying "Meals on Wheels is just the best. Do you know they delivered a Christmas package last year and the clothes fit me better than my own family’s gifts?” It was very cool."
“A few months ago, I started dropping meals to a client with a broken arm. She was very grateful to receive the meals. After a month, my client answered the door without a cast or sling. The next week she was not on my list of clients. This is a perfect example of helping a client for the short term. I was so happy that I was able to help.”
“For many clients who are house bound a delivery is more than a meal - it is an interaction with someone, a brief conversation (sometimes a very long conversation) with someone who’s no longer a stranger. A connection.”
