Calgary Meals on Wheels serves as a beacon of hope and support to thousands of vulnerable Calgarians each year, but we can’t do it alone. All our meals go out our doors for below what it costs to make them, and we rely on financial support from our community to keep our meals affordable. Here are some ways that you can help us feed our city and strengthen our community:

Ways to Support

A monthly gift to Calgary Meals on Wheels allows you the ease of automatic donations, the flexibility for your budget, and the reward of knowing you are giving all year-round.

In Memoriam or In Honour Giving provides you with the opportunity to remember special individuals with a tribute gift. Gifts may be made “In Memory of” an individual to commemorate a loved one’s life, or “In Honour of” an individual who is special in your life. Gifts may also be made in honour of special occasions, such as birthdays, graduation, and anniversaries. At your request, Calgary Meals on Wheels will send a card to the individual whom you designate to notify them of your gift. The amount will not be disclosed.

Your legacy is an extension of who you are and what you care about today. Leaving a gift to charity is an impactful way to shape your legacy to reflect your values, and Calgary Meals on Wheels would be honoured to be considered in your legacy giving plan.

Many companies have a Corporate Matching Gift Program and will match your monetary and/or volunteer contribution with a corporate gift. Check with your employer to find out if they offer this great way to increase the value of your giving.
As an employer, a great way to track funds raised is to set up a custom fundraising page! It’s easy to set up, with no charge to you.

Donations of securities (stocks, bonds, units of a mutual fund trust or segregated fund trust) receive the greatest tax benefit. In addition to the Federal and Provincial tax deductions, donations of publicly listed securities to public charities are exempt from capital gains tax. For full details of how a gift of securities would benefit your tax situation, please speak to your financial advisor.

Donate a Car Canada accepts Vehicle Donations for Calgary Meals on Wheels. Free towing is provided in most areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to Calgary Meals on Wheels through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or sold at auction (depending on its condition, age and location). Donate a Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for Calgary Meals on Wheels to benefit. After your vehicle donation is complete, you will receive a tax receipt and we will put your gift to good use. Please click here to donate a vehicle.

Looking to make a difference in your local community and support Calgary Meals on Wheels? Host a charitable fundraiser or add a charitable component to your existing event. There are countless ways to help.

Calgary Meals on Wheels welcome corporations in sponsoring our signature events like YYC Hot Chocolate Fest and YYC Ice Cream Fest, as well as our 60th Anniversary in 2025.
If sponsorship is not possible, we suggest considering doing a Day of Caring with your company.

Tours
See for yourself how our facility produces on 5,500 meals every day. Join a knowledgeable guide and move through our facility the same way our ingredients would as they are prepared into delicious, healthy meals. The eye-opening experience will take you through our 16,000 sq ft facility in about 30 minutes and is perfect for a group up to 15 people.

Tax Receipts: All gifts above $10 will be receipted. Those received by phone or mail will be receipted by email (if one is provided) or mailed to the address provided at the time of the donation. All online donations will be receipted automatically through our online processor CanadaHelps and sent to the email provided at the time of the donation.
Calgary Meals on Wheels complies with the PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards). For all recurring gifts Calgary Meals on Wheels stores and encrypts credit card holders credentials. These credentials are stored until the card holders asks for the credentials to be deleted.

For 60 years, Calgary Meals on Wheels has been more than a meal delivery service - we have been a source of nourishment, connection, and community support for those who need it most. From seniors aging in place to individuals facing life’s challenges, our impact reaches thousands of Calgarians each year.
In 2025, we celebrated this milestone while expanding our capacity to prepare and store an additional 180,000 meals annually through a new freezer and cooler expansion. This much-needed infrastructure will help ensure we can continue meeting the growing demand for nutritious meals across our city.
This expansion was made possible through the generosity of our community. Our Buy a Brick campaign invited Calgarians to make a lasting impact by honouring loved ones, marking special occasions, or simply showing their support for neighbours in need. We were also deeply grateful for the remarkable success of the Willow Park Charity Golf Tournament, whose support played a significant role in bringing this project to life. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Calgary Foundation, the Government of Alberta (CFEP), and the Government of Canada through the School Food Infrastructure Fund for their important contributions.
Together, we are building a future where every Calgarian has access to nutritious meals and a caring community.
