On behalf of the Board of Directors for Calgary Meals on Wheels, we wish to announce that after over 13 years of steady leadership, Janice Curtis has decided to step back from the Executive Director role. However, she will not be leaving us fully, as she will remain in a transitional capacity to ensure our organization continues its successful work reducing food insecurity in our city.

From global supply chain issues to major world events, daily essentials like food and gasoline prices have been on the rise. We have all felt the impact of these increases in our personal lives, and at Calgary Meals on Wheels, we’ve felt it too…

As of April 2018, Calgary Meals on Wheels accepted the offer to become the official owner of YYC Pizza Week – a fun foodie event which sees local restaurants battle for YYC’s best pizza.

This fall, we were proud to welcome new members to our team helping further our mission - Qualico Communities.

Today, on December 5th, we announced Phoenix as our official spokesperson and we couldn’t be happier.

November 4th was a good day. It was a busy Saturday in Dalhousie as hundreds of people flocked to the northwestern community centre to experience this year’s Korean Health Fair.

This school year Calgary Meals on Wheels is serving more students than ever before within our four Student Programs. 

Six months into a year-long pilot project, Calgary Meals on Wheels is seeing a positive change for those enrolled in the charity’s Full Client Support Initiative.

Husky Energy has been a long-time supporter of Calgary Meals on Wheels in many capacities; from funds raised from employee-led initiatives to lunch bags donated to our Hot Soup Program students.

Serving more than 700 Home Meal Delivery clients each day and more than 15 schools in our community, your donation provides the financial support which is essential to those utilizing our services.

The Winter Emergency Response (WER) program is a temporary shelter program offered in a portion of the YWCA’S gymnasium.

During the evening of May 11th, a few members of the Kinsmen Club of Calgary stopped by for an informative tour of our facility.

As special guests of the Brakeman Foundation, our Executive Director, Janice Curtis, and our Fund Development Manager, Stephanie Power, attended the 2nd Annual Celebrity Chef Showdown on January 28th.

Several clients had a surprise visitor delivering meals today.
